SCWC - Where Dreams Come True!
Recently, after signing an author we met at our favorite place on earth (SCWC), the new Acorn came back with this response:

Upon reading it, my heart filled up. Because I've been there. Holly and I are both authors who know how much work goes into writing a book. I've felt the crushing rejection after putting everything I had into the pages of my 300-page book. I've gone through draft after draft, scrutinizing every sentence, digging to the depths of my soul to pull out that one line of prose that ties the chapter together. Only to have someone say...Unfortunately....
From the start, running Acorn has been amazing. Not only have Holly and I gained the satisfaction of creating a home for our own books, but the tiny acorn we planted has grown into a strong tree of support, inspiration, community, and love. The family that is Acorn Publishing is truly a dream come true for me. I'm so grateful to share it with the world and to help others realize their dreams as well.
That being said, Holly and I owe a great debt of gratitude to the Southern California Writers' Conference. For those who don't know, SCWC has a special place in our hearts as the two of us met at the San Diego Conference nearly ten years ago. The SCWC has continued to introduce us to life-long friends and colleagues, like our lovely Lacey Impellizeri, Christa Yelich-Koth, Laura Taylor, and countless others. SCWC, we would not be Acorn without you!
