COMING SOON - TO STEAL A MOMENT'S TIME

To Steal a Moment's Time

by Katharina Berger

COMING FEBRUARY 2024

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:

At the age of sixteen, Katharina Berger (1910-1973) left her small Bavarian village for Munich, where she sought to make her mark in theater. A renowned German actress by the 1930s and ’40s, Katharina had the honor of being a company member for the prestigious Berliner Staadtstheater and landing roles in a number of German films, including Durch die Wüste (1936) and Enemies (1940).

As World War II began to ravage her country, Katharina found the love of her life, a German radio announcer and writer, and became pregnant. She spent the war toeing the line between keeping her newborn son safe and standing up against the injustices of Hitler’s regime.

After immigrating with her son to the U.S. in 1954 (with nothing but twenty-five cents and a few suitcases), she compiled her journals into her memoir, To Steal A Moment's Time, which is now being shared posthumously.
